Four tented safari lodges are nestled in the crofts along Grindsbrook stream, which runs down from the moorland above. One of the lodges has been designed specifically for those guests who need wheelchair access and disability support in the bathroom and kitchen areas.

The Shooting Lodge

Additionally, the Victorian shooting lodge provides either a traditional retreat in a stunning gritstone building for groups of 10, or a focal point for celebrations and parties for larger group bookings.

Comfort is paramount – Hypnos mattresses, crisp cotten linen, Yorkshire wool blankets, Persian rugs, belting woodstoves and fire cauldrons. Even children have lie-ins at The Gathering.

Tented Safari Lodges

The splendid safari lodges have hot running water, luxurious Hypnos beds, roll top bath and shower with fluffy towels and an open plan kitchen / dining / lounge area around the wood-burning stove. Each lodge sleeps six in a double and two twin rooms.

Shooting Lodge

The shooting lodge was built in 1881 to host parties in comfort and style. The lodge has a self-contained apartment with 2 en-suite bedrooms and open plan living area. 2 further bedrooms include a family room which sleeps 4, and the minstrels’ room which can be super-king or twin.

Services

Each morning your tent is serviced with a refill of wood for the stove, bins emptied and any advice you may need about the day ahead. Cots, high chairs, are available, as are dog beds and bowls.

Awesome Experience

Superb accommodation, well equipped. Excellent night’s sleep thanks to the impressive Hypnos mattresses and Egyptian cotton sheets. Stunning views, beautiful location. Warm, welcoming, definitely worth a return visit.
